About Me...

My name is Ravachol Carlotti. I'm from Brewster, New York, a small town approximately 60 miles north of New York City.  After realizing that my life was flying past me at the age of 18, and that I hadn't achieved anything significant with it thus far. I came up with a plan that would change that.

Unlike many of my friends and peers from high school who went their separate ways to colleges around the country, I decided to do something a bit different. I decided to backpack South America, and after 4 months I had seen and done many things I'd never thought I would get a chance to do in this lifetime. From trekking across the Colca Canyon in Peru, to the salt flats in Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia, through the Atacama Desert in Chile, and to the Rapa Nui stone heads on Easter Island, I became addicted to the world and the different cultures spread all across it.

My love for mountain climbing began four days after arriving in Quito, Ecuador, where I met a man that introduced me to Mt. Cotopaxi. The next day I was on my way towards the mountain. Three days and two nights later, I was standing 19,347 ft at the summit of the first mountain I had ever climbed, Mt. Cotopaxi.

After summiting Mt. Cotopaxi, I realized that I had this inner thirst that I didn't quite satisfy. I needed more...

In May of 2008 I'll be leaving for Johannesburg, South Africa to backup up to Agra, India. On the way I plan on summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania, in order to train my self for my ultimate goal of summiting Mt. Everest.
